About the Fellowships

The Department seeks to appoint:

One Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a primarily quantitative research focus
One Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a primarily qualitative research focus

The fellowships are available for up to four years, ending on 30 September 2030.

Applications are particularly encouraged from candidates whose research aligns with the broad research interests of the Department's faculty members.

The selected candidates will:

Pursue independent and high-quality scholarly research in Sociology.
Apply for internal and external research funding opportunities.
Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the Department.
Undertake a limited amount of teaching and academic supervision activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

Hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in Sociology or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrate a strong record of research achievement and future research potential.
Possess expertise in either quantitative or qualitative sociological research methods.
Show the ability to undertake independent research and contribute to collaborative academic environments.
Demonstrate excellent communication and scholarly engagement skills.
