Research Scope
Applications are welcomed from researchers whose proposed projects align with an academic discipline represented at the University of Konstanz.
Selected fellows will become members of both the Zukunftskolleg and an academic department at the university. They may also seek affiliation with one of the university’s Clusters of Excellence:

Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
Hold a doctoral degree awarded between 30 September 2024 and 1 October 2026.
Demonstrate academic excellence, research independence and strong teamwork capabilities.
Propose a research project connected with a discipline represented at the University of Konstanz.
Not hold a permanent professorship.
Not possess a habilitation or equivalent qualification such as Venia legendi.
Earlier doctoral completion dates may be considered in cases involving parental leave or employment outside academia. Candidates with externally funded positions transferable to Konstanz may also apply. (Stellenbörse)
Applicants are encouraged to contact a potential academic host at the University of Konstanz before applying. Support from a university department can strengthen the application.
International research or teaching experience and an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration will be considered advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Selected fellows will:
Develop and implement an independent research project.
Build a strong academic and research profile.
Participate actively in the Zukunftskolleg’s weekly meetings.
Contribute to its interdisciplinary and international research community.
Reside in Konstanz or the surrounding area during the fellowship.
