About the Fellowships

Duration and Completion Support
The normal appointment period is three years, with the possibility of a one-year extension.
Doctoral Research Fellows who submit their dissertation for assessment within three years of employment may be offered a 12-month Completion Grant.

Pedagogical training
Teaching
Student supervision
Research-related duties
A research stay abroad of up to six months during the fellowship period is strongly encouraged.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must meet the admission requirements for the PhD programme at the Faculty of Theology.
Candidates should possess:
A five-year master’s degree, normally comprising three years of bachelor’s study and two years of master’s study, or an equivalent qualification
A degree in theology, religious studies, or another relevant academic field
Completion of the master’s degree by the application deadline
Strong written and oral proficiency in English
Personal suitability and clear motivation for the fellowship
Proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language will be considered an advantage.
