The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has invited applications for a Research Assistant (PhD Candidate) / Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) position at the Center for Digital Transformation, TUM Campus Heilbronn.
The selected candidate will join the Professorship of Supply Chain Management led by Prof. Dr. David Wuttke and contribute to research in supply chain finance, resilience and sustainability.

Research Focus
The successful candidate will use game theory and rigorous analytical modelling to investigate fundamental questions in supply chain finance, with connections to:
Supply chain resilience
Sustainability
Operations and supply chain management
Analytical and quantitative modelling
The research is expected to produce publications in leading international academic journals.
Duration
PhD Candidate
The position will initially be offered for three years, with the possibility of extension.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree under the supervision of Prof. Dr. David Wuttke.
Postdoctoral Researcher
The postdoctoral position will initially be offered for two years, with the possibility of extension.
The role is designed to support the researcher in further developing an independent academic profile.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to:
Conduct high-impact research for publication in leading international journals
Present research findings at international conferences
Teach courses and supervise theses in supply chain management
Contribute to third-party funding and competitive grant applications
Participate in the academic activities of the research group
Collaborate with international researchers and industry partners
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess:
A master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Psychology, Biology, Business, Management, Physics or a related discipline
A Ph.D. in one of the relevant fields for applicants seeking the postdoctoral position
Excellent quantitative abilities
Strong foundations in probability theory and calculus
Proficiency in English
A strong background in game theory will be highly valued. Knowledge of econometrics will be considered an advantage.
