About the Position

The successful candidate will conduct high-quality research at the intersection of machine learning methodology and real-world AI applications. The role combines original scientific research with the development, implementation, and rigorous evaluation of advanced AI and machine learning systems.

The fellow will initially contribute to major research initiatives, including:

Pharos-CY – AI Factory Antenna Project of Cyprus
HYPPOS-AI – RIF-funded project focused on applying deep learning technologies in chemical engineering and manufacturing

These projects provide opportunities to work with real-world datasets, interdisciplinary teams, and industrial collaborators while contributing to future research proposals and scientific publications.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

Conduct original research in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Develop and evaluate novel AI/ML methodologies for real-world applications.
Participate in applied R&D projects, including Pharos-CY and HYPPOS-AI.
Perform data analysis, model development, validation, and performance evaluation.
Collaborate with computational scientists, AI researchers, domain experts, and industry partners.
Publish research findings in leading international journals and conferences.
Contribute to future research initiatives and funding proposals.

Eligibility Criteria
