About the Project
The CAMELOT project explores how individuals, public institutions, and societies develop the capacity to anticipate and respond to long-term climate risks. It investigates the cognitive, emotional, and social foundations of governance capacities, with particular emphasis on imagination, future-oriented thinking, and effective climate governance.
The project combines theoretical and empirical research, bringing together perspectives from:
Climate Governance
Political Science
Futures Studies
Sustainability Research
The research includes collaboration with international partners and empirical work across multiple European countries. The project is led by Professor Manjana Milkoreit.
About the Position
The successful candidate will play a central role in the CAMELOT project by contributing to the conceptual and empirical development of research on long-term climate governance.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and conducting interdisciplinary research
Developing and implementing empirical research activities
Evaluating innovative science-policy engagement processes
Investigating how governance actors anticipate, imagine, and respond to long-term climate risks
Collaborating with international research partners
Publishing high-quality scientific research and disseminating project findings
Eligibility
The ideal candidate should possess:
A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline such as:
Political Science
Public Policy
Sustainability Studies
Climate Governance
Environmental Studies
Social Sciences
Or a closely related field
Applicants should demonstrate strong research skills, experience in interdisciplinary projects, and an interest in science-policy engagement and climate governance.
