Available Positions

1. Postdoctoral Associate – Industrial Decarbonization

The Sustainable Energy Transitions (SET) Group, led by Prof. Dharik Mallapragada, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to develop high-fidelity energy system models for studying industrial decarbonization pathways.

Research Focus

Develop advanced energy system models for industrial decarbonization.
Study emerging low-carbon technologies and their integration into energy systems.
Improve spatial, temporal, and technological resolution of energy system models.
Contribute to petrochemical sector decarbonization analysis.
Support interdisciplinary research in sustainable energy systems and optimization.

2. Postdoctoral Associate – Microplastics Solutions

The Sustainable Engineering Initiative (SEI) at NYU Tandon is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate to support the newly established Center on Microplastics Solutions.

Research Focus

Conduct research on innovative solutions to address microplastic pollution.
Develop and manage research activities within the Center on Microplastics Solutions.
Design engineering approaches to prevent, mitigate, and remediate environmental contamination.
Advance sustainable polymer materials and circular economy solutions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams addressing environmental sustainability challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Energy Systems, or a closely related discipline.
Strong research experience relevant to the advertised project.
Expertise in computational modeling, sustainability, environmental systems, or materials research (depending on the position).
Excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative research skills.
A demonstrated record of academic excellence and scientific publications.
