New York University (NYU) Shanghai is inviting applications for the Center for Global Asia (CGA) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program 2026. The program offers 2–3 Postdoctoral Fellowships for outstanding early-career scholars conducting innovative research in Global Asia Studies. Supported by the Henry Luce Foundation, the fellowship aims to advance interdisciplinary research, academic collaboration, and curriculum development in one of the world's fastest-growing research hubs.

Fellowship Overview

The Center for Global Asia has recently established a Global Asia Hub in Shanghai through funding from the Henry Luce Foundation. The fellowship seeks scholars whose research adopts comparative and transregional approaches to Global Asia Studies. Proposed projects should engage with at least two regions within Asia, or explore Asia in relation to another region of the world, while contributing to the conceptual and methodological development of the field.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

Hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrate an excellent record of research and scholarly achievement.
Propose an original research project aligned with the fellowship themes.
Show strong potential for interdisciplinary and collaborative research.
Be committed to contributing to the academic community at NYU Shanghai.
