About the Research

The successful candidate will join the SHORES Research Center and the Division of Engineering, Civil and Urban Engineering Program to contribute to pioneering research on resilient geotechnical systems.

The project focuses on improving infrastructure resilience through:

Development and testing of resilient geotechnical systems.
Centrifuge modelling and experimental investigations.
Advanced geotechnical laboratory testing.
Numerical modelling and computational simulations.
Improving soil behaviour prediction for infrastructure, energy, and sustainability applications.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

Perform and interpret advanced geotechnical laboratory experiments.
Conduct centrifuge modelling studies.
Develop and implement numerical simulation models.
Analyse experimental and computational research data.
Prepare technical reports and scientific publications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering researchers.
Support innovative research addressing resilient infrastructure and sustainable engineering challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

A Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Strong expertise in soil mechanics and geotechnical laboratory testing.
Experience in numerical modelling and computational analysis.
Excellent analytical, research, and scientific writing skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international research environment.
