Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Chemistry & Materials Science

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has invited applications for a Research Associate-I (Postdoctoral Fellow) position under an industry-sponsored research project focused on the synthesis of adsorbents for atmospheric gases such as CO₂.

Project Details

The selected candidate will work under the mentorship of Prof. Rajendra Srivastava in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Ropar.

The project focuses on:

• Development of advanced adsorbent materials

• CO₂ adsorption and atmospheric gas capture

• Material synthesis and characterization techniques

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification

• Ph.D. degree in:

  • Chemistry

  • Materials Science

Preferred Age

• Candidates preferably below 40 years will be considered

Essential Skills & Requirements

Candidates should have expertise in:

• Synthesis of advanced materials such as:

  • Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs)

  • Mesoporous silica

  • Zeolites

Technical Experience Required

• XRD analysis

• Surface area analysis

• Adsorption techniques

• Temperature Programmed Desorption (TPD)

• Catalyst characterization methods

Additional Requirements

• Good publication record

• Strong English communication and writing skills

Fellowship / Salary

• Fellowship will be provided as per DST norms

• HRA applicable as per institute rules

Duration of Appointment

• Initial appointment: 6 months

• Extendable every six months up to 1 year based on satisfactory performance
