The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has invited applications from motivated researchers for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (PDF) position at the Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Laboratory, Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Project Title
“Autologous Islet Transplantation in Pancreas Resection Patients with Clinical Validation: Role of Immunoisolation Devices for Islet Survival”
The project focuses on developing and clinically validating immunoisolation devices that can protect transplanted pancreatic islet cells while allowing them to remain functional and secrete insulin.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or master’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
Biomedical Engineering
Life Sciences
Biotechnology
Chemical Engineering
Equivalent Biosciences disciplines
Candidates should have secured at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant qualification.
Preferred Research Experience
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Primary stem-cell isolation
Islet organoids
Transcriptomics
Human immunology
Molecular and cellular biology
Diabetes-related biomedical research
Candidates with more than one year of postdoctoral research experience and a strong record of high-quality publications are encouraged to apply.
Monthly Stipend
The selected candidate will receive approximately:
INR 87,000 per month, including HRA
Duration
The initial appointment will be for one year and may be extended depending on work progress and the availability of project funding.
Research Collaboration
The project will be carried out by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad, in collaboration with Osmania Medical College and Hospital.
