The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has invited applications for the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow under an ANRF-sponsored research project in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The project focuses on developing innovative solutions to reduce human heat strain and improve safety during exposure to extreme heat.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Allied Areas

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Strong expertise in designing thermal systems and conducting experiments.

• Proficiency in numerical simulation of thermal systems using ANSYS Fluent.

• Good understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and phase change phenomena.

• Experience or research interest in human thermal comfort, heat stress analysis under extreme environmental conditions, and human thermal modelling.

Job Responsibilities

The selected Post-Doctoral Fellow will work on developing engineering solutions to reduce heat stress and enhance human safety under extreme heat conditions through experimental studies, thermal system design, computational modelling, and simulation.
