The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) has invited applications for a temporary Post-Doctoral Fellow position under a research project in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The selected candidate will work under Prof. Uttama Lahiri on an interdisciplinary project involving wearable technologies, rehabilitation, gait analysis, artificial intelligence and healthcare systems.

Project Title

“SmartGait: Wearable Device offering Vibrotactile Stimulation for Understanding Rehabilitation Dosage in terms of Gait Quantification and Neuronal Activity in Dopaminergic Circuits of Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease”

Remuneration

• Consolidated Monthly Remuneration: INR 72,000 – INR 84,000 per month

• HRA: INR 12,600 per month, as applicable

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in areas such as:

• Computer Science

• Computer Science and Technology

• Information Technology

• Computational Science

• Closely related disciplines

Candidates should have demonstrated research or development experience in one or more of the following:

• Full-stack software development

• Artificial Intelligence

• Machine Learning

• Intelligent healthcare systems

• Cybersecurity

• Related computational areas

Applicants should have:

• Minimum 60% marks at Bachelor’s level

• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 10 and Class 12

Candidates qualified through UGC/CSIR-NET, GATE or equivalent national-level examinations may be considered according to applicable norms.

Desirable Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with research or development experience in:

• Healthcare technologies

• Health-monitoring systems

• Cybersecurity / secure healthcare systems

• Interdisciplinary hardware-software integration

• Resource-efficient AI/ML deployment

• Software development

• Embedded electronics

• Firmware development

• Hardware-software integration

Formal training or hands-on experience in computational mathematics at undergraduate or postgraduate level will also be desirable.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 35 years as on the last date of application.
