Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship (IPDF) 2026: IIT Guwahati

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati is inviting applications from active researchers (both Indian and Foreign Nationals) for the Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship (IPDF). This program allows scholars to conduct advanced research under the mentorship of IIT Guwahati faculty.

Program Overview

Eligibility Criteria

• Academic Qualification: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree with a first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree and possess a consistently good academic record.

• Institutional Restriction: Candidates who obtained their Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati are not eligible.

• Research Output: A minimum of two (2) research publications in peer-reviewed journals (published or accepted) from their Ph.D. research work is mandatory.

• Time since Ph.D.: Applicants must not have completed 5 years from the date of their Ph.D. viva-voce to the application submission deadline.

• Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 35 years as of the application deadline. Age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD and female candidates as per Government of India norms.

Role Expectations

Apart from their primary research, IPDFs are required to dedicate up to 8 hours per week to the academic division. This academic assistance may include teaching assistantships, conducting tutorials, laboratory supervision, or instrument operation.
