Key Responsibilities

The selected postdoctoral researcher will be expected to:

  • Conduct theoretical and experimental research in behavioral decision-making

  • Develop new theoretical approaches to model inequality and fairness attitudes

  • Design and implement laboratory and online experiments, including RCTs

  • Analyze quantitative data using econometric and statistical methods

  • Develop and estimate behavioral and structural models

  • Write and submit papers to leading international academic journals

  • Present research at seminars, workshops, and international conferences

  • Collaborate closely with researchers at HEC Paris, CNRS, and partner institutions


Eligibility Criteria & Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD (completed or near completion) in Economics

  • Strong commitment to academic research excellence

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Background in behavioral economics, experimental economics, decision theory, or applied microeconomics

  • Familiarity with inequality and fairness economics

  • Experience with experimental data collection

  • Proficiency in R and/or Python (or willingness to acquire these skills)

  • Familiarity with experimental platforms such as oTree and Qualtrics (preferred)

Language Requirement

  • Full professional fluency in English (mandatory)

  • Knowledge of French is an advantage but not required

The position is based at the HEC Paris campus in the Paris metropolitan area. Limited smart/remote working may be possible after discussion.


Duration & Start Date

  • Start Date: Between March and October 2026

  • Contract Duration: 1.5 years

  • Extension: Renewable up to a maximum of 3 years
