Salary

The position offers a gross monthly salary of:

€4,728–€6,433

About the Research

Existing research has extensively examined which social groups are most or least concerned about climate change. However, an important question remains: what does climate change actually mean to different people?

The project will explore how individuals interpret climate change, what they believe is happening, and why similar survey responses may reflect very different underlying understandings.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate may be expected to:

• Conduct sociological research on climate change attitudes

• Develop and implement appropriate research methods

• Analyse qualitative or quantitative data

• Prepare academic publications and research reports

• Present findings at conferences and seminars

• Collaborate with researchers within the School

• Contribute to project meetings and research dissemination

• Support broader academic activities where required

Candidate Profile

The position is suitable for candidates with:

• A PhD in Sociology, Social Sciences, Climate Communication, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline

• Strong methodological and analytical skills

• Experience conducting independent research

• A relevant publication record

• Interest in public attitudes, social meaning, and climate change

• Strong academic writing and communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment
