About the Project
The successful candidate will contribute to developing innovative thermal comfort technologies for battery electric vehicles by integrating physiological measurements, environmental data, and user feedback with machine learning techniques.
The research focuses on:
Human-centred experimentation and thermal comfort modelling.
Real-time thermal comfort prediction using machine learning.
Development of intelligent climate control systems for electric vehicles.
Integration of predictive comfort models into vehicle platforms.
Collaboration with leading European automotive companies and research institutions.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
Develop advanced thermal comfort metrics using physiological, environmental, and subjective assessment data.
Design and implement machine learning algorithms for real-time prediction of occupant thermal comfort.
Analyse physiological signals such as skin temperature, skin conductance, heart rate, and wearable sensor data.
Develop and validate predictive comfort models using driving simulators and real-world vehicle environments.
Integrate thermal comfort models into adaptive vehicle heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
Design, conduct, and analyse human-subject experiments involving diverse participant groups.
Collaborate with academic and industry partners on model validation and system integration.
Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at international conferences.
