Ashoka University has announced applications for the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Labour and Employment Vertical at the Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP). The opportunity is designed for early-career researchers who are passionate about advancing evidence-based public policy through high-quality empirical research.

The selected candidate will work closely with Prof. Kanika Mahajan and Prof. Anisha Sharma, contributing to research focused on labour markets, employment, and public policy while supporting the centre's broader mission of strengthening public policy research in India.

Position Details

• Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow

• Location: Okhla, New Delhi

• Employment Type: Consultant

• Experience: 0–3 years of post-doctoral research experience (recent Ph.D. graduates are encouraged to apply)

• Minimum Commitment: One year (Ideally two years)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

• Ph.D. (awarded or expected within six months) in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, or a closely related discipline

• Strong quantitative research background

• Proficiency in STATA and/or R (knowledge of data visualisation tools is an added advantage)

• Demonstrated research potential through publications, working papers, or doctoral research

• Excellent analytical, academic writing, and independent research skills

Key Responsibilities

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will:

• Conduct empirical research on labour and employment issues

• Perform data analysis, literature reviews, and policy research

• Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals and working paper series

• Prepare policy briefs, case studies, and research reports

• Mentor junior researchers and research assistants

• Contribute to grant proposals, academic events, and stakeholder engagements
