About the Opportunity

The ANU Myanmar Research Centre (MRC), hosted within the prestigious Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, is inviting applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Fellowship under the project titled:

"Advancing Research and Dialogue on Political, Social and Economic Conditions in Myanmar."

This position is an identified role for Myanmar nationals, aimed at strengthening research capacity and scholarly dialogue concerning Myanmar’s contemporary political, economic, and social conditions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality independent research relevant to the project.
  • Contribute to academic publications, conferences, and public seminars.
  • Participate in flagship events such as the ANU Myanmar Update Conference.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across CAP and ANU.

Eligibility Criteria

  • PhD completed within the last five years in a field related to political, social, or economic conditions in Myanmar.
  • Applicants must be Myanmar nationals.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have not previously held a postdoctoral position.
