The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) invites applications from highly qualified and motivated researchers for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in the discipline of Economics. These full-time academic positions (on contract) offer an exceptional opportunity to work with leading faculty and contribute to high-quality empirical and theoretical research.

Available Positions

1. Postdoctoral Research Associate – Applied Microeconomics (Economic Theory)

2. Postdoctoral Research Associate – Applied Microeconomics (Macroeconomics & Development Economics)

Selected candidates will work with Prof. Jeevant Rampal and Prof. Anindya S. Chakrabarti on research projects integrating empirical analysis, theoretical modelling, and computational methods.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality empirical research using extensive datasets (household, administrative, and survey data)
• Apply theoretical frameworks and computational techniques as needed
• Lead and coordinate a team of pre-doctoral research associates
• Undertake short-term field visits within India for data verification and stakeholder engagement
• Contribute to academic publications and policy research reports
• Present research outcomes at academic workshops, seminars, and conferences

Eligibility Criteria

• Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related discipline
• (Candidates expecting completion by Summer 2026 are eligible)
• Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in tools such as Stata, R, Python
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Additional weightage for demonstrated expertise in econometrics and academic writing

Terms of Appointment

• Duration: One-year contract, renewable based on performance
• Location: Full-time residence in Ahmedabad is mandatory
• Compensation: As per IIMA norms
