About the WiL Initiative

The Women in Leadership in Economics (WiL) initiative aims to enhance women’s representation, leadership, and long-term participation in the fields of economics and public policy. Through research, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, the initiative seeks to strengthen pathways for women to thrive as scholars, researchers, and policy leaders.

Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow

IEIC is seeking an exceptional and motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the WiL initiative. This role provides an opportunity to work at the forefront of gender research, leadership development, and policy engagement in India.

Key Responsibilities

The selected Post-Doctoral Fellow will:

• Lead research, evidence generation, and analytical work on gender gaps in economics and leadership
• Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis using primary and secondary data
• Collaborate closely with research teams from IEIC and Yale University
• Engage with senior academics, policymakers, and institutional partners
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers, research associates, and data teams
• Support publication of high-impact reports, papers, and knowledge products
• Participate in dissemination activities, workshops, and field research visits as required

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have:

• A Ph.D. (or near completion) in Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related discipline
• Strong academic background with demonstrated interest in gender economics, women’s leadership, or related areas
• Experience in empirical research, econometric analysis, and data management
• Excellent writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse teams
• Commitment to advancing gender equity and evidence-based policymaking

Location & Travel Requirements

• Base Location: New Delhi, India
• Travel: Willingness to travel for research activities, workshops, and fieldwork is essential
