Commencement of Admission to Ph.D. in Management for Working Professionals – 2026

The Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur invites applications for admission to the Ph.D. in Management for Working Professionals Programme – 2026. This is a part-time doctoral programme designed for working professionals who aspire to pursue careers in academia, research, policy advisory, and advanced management practice, while continuing their professional engagements.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy any one of the following qualifications (as per MoE guidelines):

• Master’s Degree (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a Master’s Degree) or Post Graduate Diploma (2 years) in any discipline or Integrated (Dual) Degree from IITs/IIMs/Other reputed Institutions/ Universities from NIRF top 50 Ranking 2025, with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade point average in the Bachelor’s as well as 60% marks or equivalent grade point average in the Master’s Degree.

Or

• A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade point in the Bachelor’s Degree.

Or

• A 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engineering/B. Arch) with at least 6.5 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or equivalent percent marks.OR

Relaxation:

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) and Persons-with-Disabilities will be given a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.

Work Experience:

Minimum 5 years of full-time managerial/executive/professional experience as on 31 March 2026.

• Classes: Primarily on weekends (Saturday & Sunday).
• Delivery Mode: Largely online, supported by digital platforms. Limited on-campus visits to IIM Sambalpur will be required
