The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has invited applications from eligible candidates for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / PhD position under a time-bound research project sponsored by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The position is available in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (MSME), IIT Hyderabad. The selected JRF will also have an opportunity to enrol in the PhD programme at MSME, IIT Hyderabad, subject to institute requirements.

Project Title

“Thermo-kinetic Analysis of filler/Ni-based superalloy interface formed during vacuum brazing”

Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess any of the following:

  • M.Tech. in Materials Engineering

  • Metallurgy

  • Materials Science and Engineering

  • Nanoscience and Technology

  • Energy Science and Technology

OR

M.Sc. in:

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

  • Materials Science

Candidates applying with an M.Sc. qualification should have a valid GATE / CSIR score and relevant academic background.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having:

  • Background in CALPHAD

  • Experience or knowledge in Materials Characterization

  • Willingness to register for the PhD programme

Fellowship

Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

  • INR 37,000 per month during the 1st and 2nd years

Senior Research Fellow (SRF):

  • INR 42,000 per month during the 3rd year

HRA: 30% as applicable

PhD Opportunity

The selected JRF will have the opportunity to enrol in the PhD programme of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, subject to fulfilment of the institute’s admission requirements.
