IIM Amritsar invites applications for its full-time Doctoral Program for the academic year 2026-27. This program is designed to train participants to adopt a scientific approach to research and aims to produce high-quality management teachers and researchers for academia, government, and industry.

Financial Assistance (Fully Funded)

IIM Amritsar provides comprehensive financial support to ensure scholars can focus on their research without financial burden:

• Monthly Fellowship:
• INR 40,000/- per month during the 1st and 2nd years.
• INR 45,000/- per month from the 3rd year onwards (after completing the comprehensive exam).
• Computer Grant: A one-time grant of INR 50,000/- to purchase a computer/laptop.
• Contingency Grant: INR 25,000/- per year (for four years) for books, stationery, and workshops.
• Conference Support: Up to INR 1,75,000/- to attend international conferences/summer schools.
• Accommodation:
• The program is full-time residential.
• Free accommodation (twin-sharing) for single students OR HRA of INR 10,000/- per month (if hostel is unavailable).
• Married students receive accommodation OR HRA of INR 15,000/- per month (if unavailable).

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold ONE of the following qualifications:

1. Master's Degree (or PG Diploma) in any discipline with First Class.
2. B.Tech / 4-Year Degree with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent.
3. Professional Qualification (CA / ICWA / CS / CFA Level-II) with a graduate degree (min 55% marks).

• Note: Final-year students can also apply (must complete degree by 30th June 2026).

Qualifying Exams: Candidates must have a valid score in CAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE, or JRF (UGC/CSIR) taken during the last two years (July 2024 or after).

Important Dates

• Application Deadline: February 28, 2026.
• Shortlist Notification: March 2026.
• Research Aptitude Test (RAT): March 30, 2026 (Online).
• Personal Interviews: April 2026 (Tentative).
• Admission Offers: End of May 2026.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting: Based on academic record and performance in competitive exams (CAT/GATE/GRE, etc.).
2. Evaluation: Shortlisted candidates will appear for a Personal Interview which includes a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and a Written Analysis Test (WAT).
