Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani — an Institution of Eminence recognized by the Government of India — invites applications for PhD Admissions (Full-Time and Part-Time) for the Second Semester 2025–26, commencing January 2026 at its Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad Campuses.

🧪 PhD Programmes Offered

Applications are invited from eligible and motivated candidates for research in the following departments:

Both Full-Time and Part-Time enrolments are available depending on departmental preferences.

💰 Financial Assistance

All full-time PhD scholars admitted under the institute fellowship or sponsored projects are eligible for financial support:

• Fellowship: ₹ 37,000 – ₹ 42,000 per month (up to five years)
• Contingency Grant: ₹ 20,000 per year
• International Travel Grant: Up to ₹ 1.5 lakh for presenting at international conferences

Sponsored-project fellows will receive stipends as per the funding-agency norms.

UGC/CSIR-NET qualified candidates with their own fellowship may also apply.

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

• M.E./M.Tech./MBA/M.Pharm./M.Phil. or equivalent degree (minimum 60%)
• M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm. or equivalent degree (minimum 60%)
• M.A. (minimum 55%) for Humanities & Social Sciences
• Part-time applicants must have at least one year of professional experience in a relevant field

Meeting minimum eligibility does not guarantee admission. Departments may set additional shortlisting criteria.
