About the Project

This PhD project aims to develop miniaturized optical imaging systems based on integrated photonics, overcoming the limitations of conventional large-scale microscopy.

The research explores novel optical effects in nanophotonic structures to achieve both high-resolution imaging and efficient light collection, with applications spanning:

  • Biological Imaging

  • Surface Inspection

  • Semiconductor Metrology

Research Responsibilities

The selected PhD researcher will:

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will be preferred:

  • Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) design, simulation, or testing

  • Nanofabrication techniques

  • Optical microscopy (experimental or theoretical)

  • Quantum photonics

  • Computational optics
