Ph.D. Admissions 2025–26 — Vijaybhoomi University

Applications Open for Full-Time, Part-Time, and Executive Ph.D. programmes for the academic year 2025–26. Our doctoral programmes are aligned with UGC guidelines, delivered by highly qualified faculty, and supported by modern research infrastructure.

Fellowship (Full-Time Ph.D.)

• Year 1 & 2: ₹57,000 per month fellowship + ₹2,00,000 research grant per year
• Year 3 & 4: ₹71,000 per month fellowship + ₹2,00,000 research grant per year
• For JRF candidates, the university will pay the difference amount up to the full fellowship

Note: For JRF candidates, the difference amount up to the university fellowship will be paid.

Eligibility Criteria

Full-Time Ph.D. (any one):

• Master’s degree with 60% or CGPA 6.5/10
• BE/BTech (any branch) with 65% + relevant work experience
• 4-year Honours Bachelor’s with Research + relevant work experience

Part-Time & Executive Ph.D. (any one):

• Master’s degree with 55% or CGPA 6.0/10
• BE/BTech (any branch) with 60% + relevant work experience
• 4-year Honours Bachelor’s with Research + relevant work experience

As per UGC regulations, Ph.D. programmes are not offered in distance/online mode.

Selection Process

1. Online application submission
2. Eligibility-based profile shortlisting
3. UGC-NET/JRF score or Vijaybhoomi Ph.D. Admission Test (VU-PAT)
4. Panel interview
5. Research proposal presentation (offline)
6. Final selection list (committee recommendation)
7. Registration

Weightage: Entrance Test 70% + Interview/Proposal 30%.

Seat allocation: Preferably 60% via UGC-NET/JRF and 40% via VU-PAT (unfilled seats may convert).

Coursework & Credit Requirements

• Total Credits: Minimum 16 (as per RAC recommendation)
• Research Methodology: Minimum 4 credits
• Teaching/Pedagogy/Academic Writing: Required
• Domain-specific Advanced Courses: As recommended by RAC
• Minimum 55% required each semester to continue

Programme Duration

• Minimum: 3 years (including coursework)
• Maximum: 6 years
• Extension: Up to 2 additional years for PwD candidates; Maternity/Childcare leave up to 240 days for women candidates.

Supervision & Research Advisory Committee (RAC)

• Each scholar is assigned a UGC-qualified Research Supervisor
• RAC approves topic/design, guides coursework, and reviews progress every 6 months

Thesis Submission & Evaluation

• Originality: Mandatory plagiarism report
• Internal presentation: Before RAC and faculty
• Evaluation: Supervisor + two external experts (at least one from abroad)
• Viva-voce: Public, if approved by evaluators
• INFLIBNET: Mandatory post-viva thesis submission
• If one evaluator rejects, a third expert is appointed
• Publication requirement: Minimum two research publications in quality journals (as prescribed by RAC) before thesis submission

Research Ethics & Misconduct

Strict adherence to university and UGC research ethics. Violations (plagiarism, data fabrication/falsification, authorship misuse, etc.) may lead to disciplinary action or cancellation of admission.

Fee Structure (Per Semester)

• Full-Time Ph.D.: ₹50,000
• Part-Time Ph.D.: ₹1,00,000
• Executive Ph.D.: ₹2,00,000
• Hostel Fee: As applicable
• Fee waivers/scholarships available for meritorious full-time scholars
• Refund policy as per university norms
