IIT Bombay – Institute Post Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) Opportunities

Location: IIT Bombay

Position: Institute Post Doctoral Fellow (IPDF)

Fellowship Details

Consolidated Salary: ₹80,000 per month + HRA (as per Govt. of India norms, currently 30% of the fellowship amount)

Contingency Grant: ₹50,000 per annum (non‐revisable)

Duration: Initially for 1 year, extendable by another year based on satisfactory academic performance.

Eligibility & Evaluation

1. Open to fresh Ph.D. holders or those with less than two years of experience.

2. Research scholars who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting examination can also apply.

3. Preferred age: below 32 years.

4. IIT Bombay Ph.D. students are not eligible.

5. Selection process includes regular application reviews and interviews, similar to faculty selection.

6. For department‐specific details, contact the concerned Heads of Academic Units.

Duties & Facilities

Each IPDF will have a faculty mentor.

In addition to research, reasonable academic/administrative tasks may be assigned.

Financial support for presenting research work at one national conference per year.
