Call for Applications: Five Postdoctoral Positions in Migration and Integration

Arena for Migration and Integration | Stockholm School of Economics (SSE)

The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) invites applications for five 2-year postdoctoral positions at the newly established Arena for Migration and Integration, housed within the SSE House of Governance and Public Policy (GaPP).

This initiative is dedicated to advancing sustainable migration and integration in Sweden by bringing together key stakeholders, generating research-based insights, and promoting multi-level collaboration. The Arena emphasizes not only employment outcomes but also broader dimensions of sustainable migration and integration.

About the Role

Postdoctoral researchers will contribute to building a systemic understanding of migration and integration governance. Beyond publishing in top international journals, candidates will actively engage in multistakeholder activities, including workshops, roundtables, and policy dialogues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and publish original research aligned with the Arena’s themes.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects with fellow researchers.
  • Participate in academic conferences, workshops, and the scholarly community.
  • Engage in stakeholder-focused activities and disseminate research findings in accessible formats.

Candidate Profile

  • PhD in social sciences (political science, sociology, geography, economics, management, or related fields).
  • Strong research agenda, demonstrated by publications or manuscripts under review.
  • Methodological expertise (qualitative or quantitative; both is a merit).
  • Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
  • Doctoral degree obtained within the last 5 years (preferred).
  • Commitment to relocate to Stockholm and engage with the Swedish and EU migration context.
