U.S.-India TRUST Fellowship 2026–27 Applications Open at MAHE

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has invited applications for the U.S.-India TRUST Fellowship 2026–27, a prestigious international research initiative designed to strengthen research collaboration between the United States and India.

The fellowship is hosted by three premier Indian institutions:

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras)
Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru

The programme is facilitated through a public-private partnership involving the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai, Pratiksha Trust, and Mazumdar Shaw Philanthropy (MSP). It aims to provide outstanding post-doctoral researchers from leading U.S. universities with opportunities to undertake advanced research projects in India while fostering long-term academic collaborations.

Fellowship Highlights

Monthly stipend of USD 1,650
Complimentary in-campus housing and meals
Health/medical insurance support
One round-trip economy airfare between the U.S. and India
Contingency research grant of up to USD 1,000
Visa and on-ground logistical support

The fellowship aligns with the Transforming the Relationship Utilizing Strategic Technology (TRUST) initiative and focuses on:

Artificial Intelligence
Quantum Computing
Semiconductors
Biotechnology
Defense and Space
Energy

Programme Objectives

Foster academic exchange and strengthen long-term U.S.-India research partnerships

Eligibility

Applications are open to post-doctoral researchers from leading U.S. institutions whose proposed research aligns with TRUST strategic technology fields. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens with no prior experience in India.
