UGC–CSIR NET JRF Examination – December 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the UGC–Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) NET JRF Examination for the December 2025 session. This national-level examination determines the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges.

  • Life Sciences
  • Physical Sciences
  • Chemical Sciences
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
  • Age Limit (for JRF): Maximum 28 years (relaxations as per government norms).
  • For Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.

Examination Pattern

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Sections: The question paper is divided into 3 parts –
  • Part A: General Aptitude
  • Part B: Subject-related questions (conceptual)
  • Part C: Higher-order questions to test scientific knowledge and application
