Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur has invited applications for the position of Project Assistant in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The appointment is for a DBTAU-funded research project focusing on Sanskrit knowledge systems and their relevance to Marathi literature.

Position Details

• Position: Project Assistant

• Project Title: A Critical Commentary on Sanskrit Vangmaya Kosha through the Prism of IKS and Illustrating IKS Importance for Marathi Literature

• Number of Positions: 01

• Employment Type: Temporary

Project Duration

• Initial appointment will be for one year.

• The tenure may be extended up to one additional year based on satisfactory performance and project requirements (maximum till project completion).

Fellowship

• Monthly Emoluments: INR 30,000 per month

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• M.A. in Sanskrit

• NET/SET qualification in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS)

• Working knowledge of Hindi and Marathi

Desirable Qualification

• Ph.D. in Sanskrit

Job Responsibilities

The selected Project Assistant will:

• Assist in research related to Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).

• Contribute to the critical commentary on Sanskrit Vangmaya Kosha.

• Support research documentation and literature review.

• Assist in project-related academic activities and reporting.

Selection Process

• Only shortlisted candidates will be informed via email.

• Selection will be based on an offline written test and/or interview.

• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the selection process.
