Research Vacancies 2026: University of Hyderabad (UoH)

The University of Hyderabad (UoH) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for purely temporary research positions under externally funded projects by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). Opportunities are available in the Department of Plant Sciences and the School of Chemistry.

1. Project Associate I (Department of Plant Sciences)

Project Title: Identification and Characterization Chickpea and Macrophomina thosystem under the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG).

Number of Positions: 01 (one).

Stipend: Rs. 37,000/- per month plus 30% HRA.

Tenure: One year, which is extendable up to three years based on performance.

Age Limit: 50 years.

Eligibility & Experience:

Essential Qualification: Four years Bachelor's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, BVSc/B. Pharm, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University. Candidates must fulfill guidelines as per ANRF OM: ANRF/OM/N-01/2024.

Desired Qualification: Expertise in advanced plant molecular biology techniques.

Experience: At least one year of research experience after completing a master's degree is preferred.

2. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (School of Chemistry)

Area of Research: Advanced Asymmetric Organic Synthesis & Photobiocatalysis.

Number of Positions: One (01).

Stipend: For Year 1-2, Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA @ 24% for candidates with NET-JRF/NET-Assistant Professorship, OR Rs. 30,000/- per month + HRA @ 24% for NET Category 3 (PhD admission eligibility) candidates. In Year 3, the SRF stipend is Rs. 42,000/- per month + HRA @ 24%.

Tenure: Three (03) years (co-terminus with the project).

Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on the last date of application, with age relaxation applicable as per ANRF/Govt. of India norms.

Eligibility & Experience:

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA).

Mandatory National Eligibility: Qualification in CSIR-UGC-NET, GATE, or any national-level examination conducted by central government agencies (like DST, DBT, DAE, MOE, ICAR, etc.) is mandatory.

Desired Qualification: Hands-on laboratory experience in setting up asymmetric organic reactions, column chromatography, product characterization by NMR spectroscopy and chiral HPLC, or prior exposure to biocatalysis/photocatalysis is highly preferred.
