About the Role
The successful candidate will conduct research in racehorse welfare, contributing to the development and evaluation of the QBA (Qualitative Behaviour Assessment) app in racehorse training yards.
The position involves contributing to the overall direction and management of the research project while disseminating research findings through publications, presentations, and engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
Research and Project Delivery (75%)
Plan and execute specific components of the research project under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
Conduct experimental research on racehorse welfare using qualitative behavioural assessment techniques.
Analyse and interpret research data.
Maintain high standards of data integrity, record keeping, and research documentation.
Dissemination and Publications (15%)
Present and discuss research findings within and beyond the research group.
Publish research outputs as first or co-author in peer-reviewed journals.
Present findings at conferences and academic events.
Supervision and Mentoring (5%)
Supervise students and junior staff working on the project as required.
Academic Engagement and Outreach (5%)
Support wider institute activities in teaching, research dissemination, and outreach initiatives.
