About the Role
The University of Bristol is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to join a highly active research team with a strong publication record in leading AI and computer vision conferences.
The position is funded through the EU WeHear Project, a collaborative initiative led by DTU (Technical University of Denmark), focusing on multimodal audio-visual understanding for smart hearing aids and smart glasses capable of real-time and predictive conversational understanding.
The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Dima Damen, contributing to internationally recognized research in computer vision, multimodal learning, and artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
During the 36-month appointment, the selected researcher will:
Conduct original research in multimodal audio-visual understanding for conversational environments.
Design, develop, train, and evaluate state-of-the-art deep learning models.
Develop AI algorithms for low-latency, real-time, and predictive audio-visual perception.
Contribute to the development of intelligent systems for smart hearing aids and smart glasses.
Collaborate with international research partners within the WeHear consortium.
Publish research findings in leading international journals and conferences.
Present research at major international AI, machine learning, and computer vision conferences.
