The Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow position under an Aeronautics Research and Development Board, DRDO-sponsored research project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The appointment is purely temporary. The selected candidate may also have an opportunity to register for the PhD programme at SVNIT Surat, subject to the institute’s applicable rules.

The selected candidate will receive:
INR 37,000 per month
16% HRA, as per revised DST JRF/SRF norms
Essential Qualifications
Candidates should possess a postgraduate degree in any of the following or a related discipline:
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Design
Manufacturing
Production Engineering
Industrial and Production Engineering
Metallurgy
Applied Mechanics
Aerospace Engineering
Applicants should also possess a B.E./B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Metallurgy or an allied discipline.
Candidates must have qualified through:
GATE; or
An eligible national-level examination conducted by recognised central government departments, agencies or institutions.
Desirable Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience in:
Manufacturing metallurgy
Solidification processing
Modelling
Microstructural characterisation
Mechanical characterisation
