Walk-In-Interview 2026: Project Vacancies at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU)
Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Rono Hills, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh, is inviting applications for a Walk-in-Interview to fill multiple project positions in the Department of Botany. These positions are part of a time-bound Research & Development project sponsored by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
Project Overview
Project Title: North East Consortium of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (NECMAP) [Phase-I: Establishment].
Principal Investigator: Prof. Hui Tag, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, RGU.
Project Duration: Initially for 01 Year (2026-2027), with all appointments being co-terminus with the project's completion, but extendable.
Vacancy Details & Remuneration
Applications are invited for the following positions:
1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 03 Posts
Remuneration (JRF - NET/GATE Qualified): Rs. 37,000/- per month + 10% HRA for the 1st and 2nd year. If extended to a 3rd year as SRF, the fellowship will be Rs. 42,000/- per month + 10% HRA.
Remuneration (Junior Project Fellow - Non-NET): In the absence of NET-qualified candidates, non-NET candidates may be appointed as JPF at Rs. 24,000/- per month + 10% HRA for the 1st and 2nd year, and as SPF at Rs. 28,000/- per month + 10% HRA for the $3^{rd}$ year.
2. Project Assistant (PA) - 01 Post
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000/- per month (Fixed).
Eligibility Criteria
For JRF: Candidates must hold an M.Sc. in Botany/Life Sciences/Biotechnology. UGC-CSIR JRF/NET qualified candidates with specialization in Plant Taxonomy, Medicinal Floristics, Pharmacognosy, and Ethnobotany, along with prior knowledge of field exploration and herbarium databases, are required.
For Project Assistant (PA): Candidates must hold an M.Sc. in Botany and possess prior knowledge of botanical and ethnobotanical field expeditions, medicinal plant collection, crude drugs, and herbarium databases.
