The Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has invited applications for two Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions under research projects funded by the Lady Tata Memorial Trust, Mumbai.

The projects focus on advanced cancer biomarker research and cervical cancer studies involving circulating tumor cells (CTCs), circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), and HPV-related biomarker discovery. Eligible candidates can submit their applications before 13 June 2026.

Tracking Driver Mutations via Sequential Genomic Profiling of Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs) and Circulating Tumour DNA (ctDNA) in Cervical Cancer and Their Correlation with Disease Outcome

Impact of Elective Para-Aortic Nodal Radiotherapy on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Circulating Tumour DNA (ctDNA) Kinetics in Patients with Cervical Cancer: A Nested Biomarker Discovery Study in a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT)

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Postgraduate Degree in Basic Sciences

OR

• Graduate/Postgraduate Degree in Professional Courses

Selected through any of the following national-level examinations:

• CSIR-UGC NET

• GATE

• National Eligibility Tests with Lectureship

• Examinations conducted by:

  • DST

  • DBT

  • ICMR

  • Other recognized national funding agencies

Desirable Qualifications

For Project 1

• Experience in wet laboratory techniques.

• Handling blood and tissue samples.

• Molecular biology and genomic research experience.

For Project 2

• Experience in patient recruitment and handling.

• Clinical research and trial management experience.

Job Responsibilities

Project 1

Selected candidates will be involved in:

• Recruitment of cervical cancer patients from OPD.

• Blood sample collection.

• Isolation of circulating tumour cells (CTCs).

• Isolation of circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA).

• Laboratory-based molecular and genomic experiments.

Project 2

Selected candidates will be responsible for:

• Recruitment of eligible patients.

• Clinical follow-up and monitoring.

• Coordination of activities related to the clinical trial.

• Data collection and research support activities.

Selection Process
