About the Role

The Research Associate will support the Clinic's research projects concerning citizenship and immigration law in India.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting critical legal research.

• Supporting empirical studies on citizenship and immigration law.

• Undertaking groundwork for the Clinic's research projects.

• Travelling to identified research sites for data collection.

• Contributing to research aimed at identifying areas for law and policy reform.

About the Citizenship and Immigration Law Clinic

The Clinic works on legal assistance, research and policy issues relating to citizenship and immigration law, including matters concerning:

• Citizenship determination

• Asylum and refugee status

• Deportation

• Detention

• Immigration and allied legislation

• Access to legal representation and advice

The Clinic's activities are expected to initially focus on Karnataka and Assam, with expansion to other states thereafter.
