The Department of Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, invites applications from eligible and motivated candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-IRG funded research project. The project focuses on developing advanced catalyst materials for sustainable carbon dioxide conversion into methane.

Project Title

Mechanistic Insights of CO₂ Conversion into Methane over Engineered Perovskite-Based Catalysts under Mild Conditions

The selected candidate will work on the development of engineered perovskite catalysts and conduct catalytic studies related to CO₂ methanation under mild operating conditions.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess any one of the following:

• M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc./M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry, Energy Engineering, or related specializations relevant to heterogeneous catalysis.

• Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG levels for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates.

• Minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

OR

• B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related disciplines.

• Minimum 65% marks or 7.0 CGPA for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates.

• Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Preference will be given to candidates with a valid GATE qualification.

Desired Qualifications

Candidates with the following skills will be preferred:

• Experience in heterogeneous catalysis and experimental research.

• Knowledge of catalyst synthesis, characterization techniques, and laboratory best practices.

• Familiarity with computational tools for data analysis, modelling, and interpretation of experimental results.

Age Limit

• 28 years for GEN/EWS candidates.

• 31 years for OBC-NCL candidates.

• 33 years for SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates.

Fellowship

Selected candidates will receive:

• INR 37,000 per month for the first two years.

• INR 42,000 per month for the third year.

For candidates selected without GATE/NET qualification, fellowship will be provided as per ANRF norms.

HRA: As per institute rules.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Develop engineered perovskite catalysts.

• Conduct catalytic studies for CO₂ methanation.

• Assist in project-related research, experimentation, and scientific publications.
