The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-ARG sponsored research project in the Department of Physics. The project focuses on developing advanced liquid crystal-based materials and smart actuators integrated with IoT-enabled systems.

Project Title

Design, Synthesis, and Development of Multi-Stimuli Responsive Behavior of Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Soft Robotics and Smart Actuators with IoT-enabled Integration

Fellowship

• First and Second Year: INR 37,000 per month + 20% HRA

• Third Year: INR 42,000 per month + 20% HRA

• Accommodation: No HRA if hostel accommodation is provided.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• M.Sc. in Physics, Applied Physics, Material Science, Optoelectronics, or

• M.Tech. in Solid State Technology, Materials Science, Optoelectronics, or equivalent disciplines.

Additionally:

• Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG levels for General/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates.

• Minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Desired Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• GATE/UGC-CSIR qualification

• Knowledge of material synthesis

• Prior experience with Machine Learning (ML) and IoT algorithms

• Programming skills in Python/C++

• Good analytical abilities and scientific writing skills

Job Responsibilities

The selected JRF will be involved in:

• Synthesis, fabrication, characterization, and testing of multi-stimuli responsive liquid crystal elastomers

• Development of materials for soft robotics and smart actuator applications

• IoT-enabled device integration

• Experimental investigations and data analysis

• Literature review, report writing, and project documentation

• Assisting in other project-related research activities

PhD Opportunity

The selected candidate will be eligible to register for a PhD programme at NIT Warangal, subject to institute rules and fulfilment of the prescribed admission requirements.
