The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF-sponsored research project. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in Civil Engineering and Water Resources Engineering to work on sustainable reservoir management and hydraulic engineering research.

Position Details

Project Title

Towards Sustainable Reservoir Management in the Krishna River Basin: Experimental and Numerical Evaluation of Jet-Induced Sediment Removal Technologies

Project Duration

• Maximum 3 years or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Fellowship

• INR 37,000 per month for the first two years

• INR 42,000 per month for the third year

• HRA as per Government of India rules applicable to NIT Warangal

• Institute hostel accommodation may be available subject to availability.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess either of the following:

Option 1

• B.Tech./B.E. (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering

• M.Tech./M.E. in Water Resources Engineering

• First Class with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG levels for GEN/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS candidates.

• Minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

• GATE score is not mandatory.

OR

Option 2

• B.Tech./B.E. (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering

• Minimum 7.5 CGPA or 70% marks for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL candidates.

• Minimum 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

• GATE score is not mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Valid GATE/UGC-CSIR/INSPIRE/NET or other national-level qualification.

• Prior experience in Experimental Hydraulics.

• Knowledge of Open Channel Flow, Reservoir Sedimentation, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

• Experience with experimental hydraulic investigations and numerical modelling.

Age Limit

• 30 years – GEN / GEN-EWS

• 33 years – OBC-NCL

• 35 years – SC / ST / PwD / Female candidates

(Age will be calculated as on the commencement date of the notification.)
