NIT Warangal Recruitment 2026: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Opportunities

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal is inviting applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions across two major research projects. These roles offer a chance to work on cutting-edge technologies in Battery Research and 6G Communications.

1. Project: Fast Charging in Lithium-Ion Cells

This project focuses on electrolyte formulation and interphase chemistry to enable faster charging capabilities in battery technology.

• Project Title: Enabling Fast Charging in Lithium-Ion Cells: Insights into Electrolyte Formulation and Interphase Chemistry

• Sponsoring Agency: ANRF - Advanced Research Grant (ARG)

• Essential Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgical, Materials, Manufacturing, Chemical, Production, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • M.E./M.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or equivalent.

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry or Physics.

  • GATE/NET is NOT mandatory.

• Emoluments: INR 37,000/- pm (first 2 years); INR 42,000/- pm (third year).

• Age Limit: 30 years (GEN), 33 years (OBC-NCL), 35 years (SC/ST/PwD/Female).

2. Project: AKASH-6G (6G Non-Terrestrial Networks)

This project explores AI-native frameworks for 6G connectivity, specifically focusing on deep learning for direct-to-device communication.

• Project Title: AKASH-6G: AI-Native 6G Non-Terrestrial Networks: Deep Learning Frameworks for Resilient Direct-to-Device Connectivity

• Department: Electronics and Communication Engineering

• Sponsoring Agency: ANRF, Prime Minister Early Career research grant (PMECRG)

• Essential Qualifications:

  • B.Tech/B.E. or M.Tech/M.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent.

  • Aggregate 60% or 6.5 CGPA (Relaxations for SC/ST/PwD).

• Emoluments:

  • With NET/GATE: INR 37,000 + HRA (Years 1-2); INR 42,000 + HRA (Year 3).

  • Without NET/GATE: INR 30,000 + HRA (Years 1-2); INR 33,000 + HRA (Year 3).
