The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) – Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) sponsored research project.

The position offers an opportunity for candidates interested in networking, systems, high-performance computing and heterogeneous computing environments. The selected candidate will also be eligible to register for a Ph.D. programme at NIT Warangal, subject to institute rules.

Project Title

“PRISM: Performance-aware Resource Interference Study and Mitigation for Virtual Network Functions on Heterogeneous Accelerators”

Fellowship / Emoluments

For candidates qualified through CSIR-UGC NET/GATE or other National Eligibility Tests:

• 1st and 2nd Year: INR 37,000 + 20% HRA = ₹44,400 per month

• 3rd Year: INR 42,000 + 20% HRA = ₹50,400 per month, upon successful assessment and upgradation to SRF

For candidates without NET/GATE or equivalent National Eligibility Test:

• 1st and 2nd Year: INR 30,000 + 20% HRA = ₹36,000 per month

• 3rd Year: INR 33,000 + 20% HRA = ₹39,600 per month, upon successful assessment and upgradation to SRF

Essential Qualification

Candidates should meet the prescribed academic criteria and possess relevant qualifications such as:

• B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or Electronics and Communication Engineering, along with M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering; OR

• B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology or Artificial Intelligence, subject to the required marks/CGPA criteria.

For applicable UG and PG qualifications, candidates from GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL categories should generally have at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA, while SC/ST/PwD candidates should have at least 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA, as specified in the advertisement.

Desirable Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C/C++

• Familiarity with Linux kernel networking, or willingness to learn

• Prior research experience in networking, systems or high-performance computing

Age Limit

Maximum age: 30 years

The upper age limit is relaxable by up to five years for SC/ST/OBC candidates, women and persons with disabilities, as per the notification.

Additional Benefits

HRA will be provided according to institute rules. The selected candidate may also avail on-campus hostel and mess facilities, subject to availability.

The selected candidate will be eligible to register for a Ph.D. degree at NIT Warangal as per institute rules. However, a separate application must be submitted when the institute releases the relevant Ph.D. admission notification.
