NIT Rourkela Invites Applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under SERB-ANRF Funded Project

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering under a SERB-ANRF funded research project. The project focuses on developing a continuous non-invasive wearable multi-metabolite and inflammation sensing platform for metabolic profiling and disease analytics. Eligible candidates with a strong background in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Electronics, or allied disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Project Title

Continuous Non-Invasive Wearable Multi-Metabolite and Inflammation Sensing Platform for Metabolic Profiling and Disease Analytics

Fellowship

• Year 1 & Year 2: INR 37,000 per month + HRA (as per norms)

• Year 3: INR 42,000 per month + HRA (as per norms)

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess any one of the following:

• First Class Postgraduate Degree (M.Tech./M.E./M.Pharm. or equivalent) in Engineering or Basic Sciences with a valid GATE/NET qualification.

• First Class Graduate Degree in a Professional Course with valid GATE qualification.

• Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed under ANRF/SERB guidelines.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• M.Tech./B.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering

• M.Pharm.

• M.Tech. in Electronics Engineering

• M.Tech./M.Sc. in Biotechnology or Chemistry

• Valid GATE/GPAT score

• Prior experience in:

  • Biosensors

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Bioelectronics

  • Electrochemistry

  • Diabetes-related research

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be involved in:

• Development and testing of biosensors in laboratory settings

• Sensor fabrication and electrochemical characterization

• Data acquisition and analysis

• Documentation and report preparation

• Assisting in collaborative research activities

• Presenting research findings at conferences and meetings

Selected candidates will also be encouraged to register for a Ph.D. programme at NIT Rourkela, subject to fulfilling the institute's admission requirements.
