NIT Rourkela Invites Applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under ANRF-Funded Research Project

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering under an ANRF-funded research project. The project focuses on developing a translational bioink platform for intraoperative bone regeneration. Eligible candidates from Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, and allied disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Project Title

A Translational Bioink Platform for Intraoperative Bone Regeneration

Fellowship

• Year 1 & Year 2: INR 37,000 per month + HRA (as per norms)

• Year 3: INR 42,000 per month + HRA (as per norms)

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any branch), Medicine, Dental, or Pharmacy OR

• A Master's degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, or other allied disciplines.

• First Class in both UG and PG (where applicable).

• A valid GATE/NET/BET/GPAT score or any equivalent National Level Eligibility Test.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Biomaterials

• Tissue Engineering

• Cell Culture

• Molecular Biology

• 3D Bioprinting

• Small Animal Handling

• Microscopy

• Material Characterization

• Histology

• Data Analysis

• Scientific Writing

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on:

• Biomaterials development for bone tissue engineering

• 3D bioprinting and scaffold fabrication

• Cell culture and biological evaluation

• Preclinical assessment of biomaterials for bone regeneration

• Research documentation and collaborative project activities

Selected candidates will also have the opportunity to enroll in the Ph.D. programme at NIT Rourkela, subject to fulfilling the institute's admission criteria.
