The Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Research Staff – Research Associate-I (RA-I) under a DRDO Aeronautics Research & Development Board (AR&DB) funded research project. Project Title

Advanced Carbon Fiber Phenolic Composite Ablatives: A Solution for Prolonged Durability and Efficiency in Rocket Motor Nozzle Applications

The selected candidate will contribute to advanced research on high-performance polymer composite materials for aerospace and defence applications, with a focus on improving the durability and efficiency of rocket motor nozzle systems.

Fellowship

Selected candidates will receive:

• INR 69,600 per month (Consolidated)

• 20% HRA as applicable

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess either:

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related discipline.

OR

• M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or an equivalent discipline with a minimum of three years of research experience and at least two research papers published in SCI or other reputed journals.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

• Research experience relevant to Polymer Composites and Thermal Protection Systems (TPS).

• Publications supporting research in the project domain.

• Strong knowledge of the design, development, fabrication, and characterization of polymer composites.

Appointment Details

• The appointment is purely temporary.

• Initial appointment will be for one year.

• The position may be extended annually based on satisfactory performance until completion of the project.
