The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela has invited applications for the position of State Program Manager under the UNICEF-funded project “Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Public Health Nutrition.” The appointment is purely temporary and contractual and offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale public health and nutrition initiatives across Odisha.

Position Details

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Master's degree in Public Health, Sociology, Economics, Population Studies, Rural Development, or related disciplines.

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in managing development projects.

• Fluency in English and Hindi (knowledge of Odia is desirable).

Desirable Qualification

• Experience working in the international development or humanitarian sector, particularly with organizations within the United Nations system.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Coordinating and liaising with OLM, UNICEF, and district/block-level officials across Odisha.

• Supporting implementation and monitoring of project activities across all 30 districts.

• Planning and reviewing meetings at state, district, and block levels.

• Monitoring project outputs and progress indicators and preparing reports.

• Conducting field visits to support Regional Program Coordinators and Poshan Sakhis.

• Facilitating training programs, stakeholder consultations, and review meetings.

• Identifying implementation gaps and recommending corrective actions.

• Assisting in documentation, analysis, and reporting related to project activities.

• Undertaking additional project-related assignments as directed by the Principal Investigator.
