Project Title

“A Mathematical Modeling Study of Breast Cancer Dynamics in Human Populations: Bridging Epidemiological Theory and Public Health Application”

The project focuses on the application of mathematical and epidemiological modelling to understand breast cancer dynamics in human populations and connect theoretical modelling with real-world public health applications.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should fulfil the following requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from an Institute of National Importance;

OR

• Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis in Mathematics at an Institute of National Importance may apply, provided their Ph.D. defence is completed at the time of appointment.

• At least two research papers published in SCI/SCIE journals.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates having research experience in:

• Mathematical or epidemiological modelling of cancer

• Modelling of other chronic diseases

• Computational analysis of disease dynamics

• Application of mathematical models to real-world public health problems

Research publications in areas such as the following will also be preferred:

• Mathematical Biology

• Epidemiology

• Cancer Modelling

• Related interdisciplinary research areas

Fellowship & Remuneration

Consolidated Monthly Fellowship: INR 58,800 per month + HRA

HRA will be applicable according to prescribed project/Institute norms.

Duration of Appointment

Total Project Duration: 03 Years

• Initial appointment will be for 1 year.

• The position is likely to be extended for another 2 years.

• Extension will be subject to satisfactory performance during each semester.

• The appointment will remain co-terminus with the duration of the project.

Age Limit

Upper Age Limit: 35 Years as on the date of appointment.

A relaxation of 5 years is applicable for:

• SC/ST candidates

• Physically handicapped candidates

• Women candidates

as specified in the advertisement.
