The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an ANRF (Advanced Research Grant) funded research project in the Department of Food Process Engineering. Fellowship

Year 1 & Year 2

INR 37,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • M.Tech. in Food Engineering / Post-Harvest Engineering / Food Technology

  • Minimum CGPA of 6.5/10.0 or 60% aggregate marks

The essential qualifications and fellowship norms will be governed by ANRF/DST Government of India guidelines.


Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Valid GATE qualification

  • Research experience in machine design

  • Knowledge of:

    • CAD software

    • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

    • Machine Learning (ML)

    • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

  • Experience in:

    • Data acquisition systems

    • Sensor integration

    • Laser technology

    • Ballistics and shockwave extrusion

    • Milling and paddy parboiling equipment


Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Carry out research related to the LIST project.

  • Work on the development and optimization of laser-induced shockwave technology for food applications.

  • Contribute to experimental, modelling, and computational studies.

  • Pursue Ph.D. research at NIT Rourkela on the project theme.
